When I go out to eat, 99% of the time I get most excited about the sides! Often, I will order a side plate because I cannot narrow it down to the standard two that come along with an entrée. I just really love me some veggies and carbs, ha!
Favorite Lunch: Poutine
Where: Le Cellier located at Epcot
Interestingly enough, both of my all-time favorite side items are at the infamous Epcot restaurant, Le Cellier. But hey, that must mean they have really fabulous side items, right ha?! My “numéro un” side item is the poutine! So what exactly is pountine…and how do you even pronounce it?! Well, “poo-tin” is staple in the Canadian fast food world. Traditionally, it is French fries topped with brown gravy and cheese curds. Le Cellier offers two different versions of the dish. At lunch, which is what I had, the poutine is a toned down adaptation of the Canadian food icon. The dish is composed of thick-cut fries, melted cheddar, and brown gravy, which I think is the best combination ever! Apparently though, this version has many Canadians in an uproar as it is nothing like what they get up North. Also, my momma wasn’t a huge fan because she likes her French fries crunchy (I’ve always been a soggy fry girl!) and she just wasn’t crazy about the texture. At dinner, the poutine is a more classical adaption with crisp, long fries, white cheese curds, and a red wine reduction. Can you say yummo?! I will definitely have to try the dinner poutine while I’m at WDW!
