I’ve never had a crazy sweet tooth; that was left for my brother and stepdad! Even as a child, I preferred savory items, like vegetables, soup, and pasta. There is a well known story in my family of how when I was a (very cute and adorable) baby, my mom would give me canned green beans to munch on.
All that considering, when I do get a sweet craving, I usually gravitate towards things that are unique and really well-made. This is perfect when I am at Disney, because there are all kinds of interesting and yummy desserts scattered throughout the restaurants. Below are my favoritest-fav! =D
Favorite Dessert: Almond Crusted Cheesecake
Where: Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
I have loved the almond crusted cheesecake at Narcoossee’s for many, many years. I feel like that is the mark of a great food item: despite having all kinds of outstanding, delicious treats, it remains the one you remember the most and go back for. And being featured at a fancy-schmacy restaurant, it has quite the comfort food feel to it!
This cheesecake is pretty self-explanatory: it is a classic cheesecake crusted in almonds. Clever name, eh? However, do not be fooled by its simplicity. It is SO good! I don’t know exactly what they put in it or what they do, but all I know is that it tastes like heaven. There is also a berry sauce, which is pretty good too (and that is saying a lot from me, a notorious berry naysayer!) that if you so choose you can dip your cheesecake in.
Runner-up: Everything on the desert menu at Via Napoli, ha! (Seriously, so good.)
PS: Now I desperately want some Disney-worthy dessert. Who’s with me?! =P
