Thanks to my Facebook readers, I finally tried the Dark Chocolate-Covered Sea Salt Caramel from Karamell-Küche inside Epcot’s Germany pavilion, and it definitely lived up to all the hype. It. Was. Delicious. The chocolate is smooth and creamy and perfectly complemented by the sweet, gooey caramel inside. The salt brings out the sweetness and adds a nice little crunch. I found myself looking for salt with each bite. I opted for the dark chocolate, because that’s what I prefer, but I think the milk chocolate would have been too sweet. The bitterness of the dark chocolate was a nice contrast to the super sweet caramel. It is very rich. I could only eat half of mine, but my sweet-loving husband ate all of his!
And to go with my chocolate, I got a cup of hot Gluhwein, which is mulled wine with a hint of cinnamon and spice. They only serve this around the holidays, and it’s one of the things I look forward to when we go in late Fall (along with my Holiday Sandwich). And since chocolate and wine are meant to be one, the two together made a perfect midday snack. We like to grab a bench and people watch while we enjoy our goodies!
What’s your Disney must-have snack? Dole Whips? Mickey Ears? Churros? Turkey Legs? 😉
