Thanks to a little help from the store, these Easter brownies are simple to make, versatile, and oh so pretty! Change the color of the frosting and swap out the candy, and these can work for any holiday!
Here’s a super quick dessert idea for your Easter weekend! I’m a big fan of semi-homemade cooking, especially when it comes to desserts. My Easter brownies are ridiculously easy and perfect for a holiday gathering!
Just whip up a box of your favorite brownie mix, and top it with a homemade whipped topping or Cool Whip that you’ve added a few drops of food coloring to. Then, to make it look pretty, sprinkle the top with your favorite pastel-colored candy. Didn’t I say it was easy?!
To make them even more festive, you could even sprinkled some edible Easter grass on top, and the little candies could be the “eggs”. To make edible Easter grass, mix a drop of food coloring into some coconut flakes, and work it in until its evenly combined. This can be adapted for any holiday by switching out candy.

For this recipe, I used this all-natural food coloring kit. It has no synthetic dyes and made from concentrated vegetables. It also lasts a long time!
To ensure your brownies are extra fudgy, take them out a few minutes early. If you cook them until a toothpick inserted in the center is completely clean, they’re overcooked and will probably be dry. You can also add extra chocolate chips to your batter to make them even more chocolatey.
For a fun little game, you can hide a malted milk egg down in one of the brownies before baking, and whoever finds the hidden egg wins a prize! We do this at almost every holiday, and it’s become a fun, family tradition!
To make these even prettier to serve, you can use them same candy you top them with to sprinkle all around your serving tray or dessert table!
