View from the balcony…perfect!
Here are some pictures from our room at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (# 4161). You can request specific room numbers when you make your reservation and although nothing is guaranteed, we usually get what we ask. The key is to just not go overboard with your requests. I’ve also heard that some people actually call the hotel directly after making their reservation.
While we absolutely LOVED the view and the location (so close to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Boardwalk), we are definitely value/moderate resort kinda people. We missed the food courts, the transportation was horrible, and it’s just TOO expensive. We got an awesome deal using a military discount, but I would never pay full price (or close to it).
Honestly, the bus system here was AWFUL…the worst wait times we have ever had – ever. Waiting for the buses was eating up 2-3 hours of our day, so by the second day, my husband said no more. We ended up driving everywhere the rest of the week, which takes away from the whole Disney “experience” for me.
Also, the no-food-court-situation was very inconvenient. We had to walk all the way over to the Beach Club side to get a snack in the morning, and the choices were minimal at best. And to make matters worse, the little food counter is located in a small gift shop that was always packed! We were there during a slow season, so I can’t imagine what it would be like during the busy season.
All of that said, the resort is beautiful, the pool is AWESOME, the service and cleanliness were impeccable, and the location is perfect! I also did a video of the room that you can see HERE
