Once I heard there was a pineapple and bacon burger on the menu, Paradiso 37 was on my Disney bucket list. I’m a burger girl. It’s my ultimate goal to try every burger at Disney. So far, Liberty Tree Tavern ranks number one with Sci-Fi Dine-In a close second.
Paradiso 37 is located at Downtown Disney on Pleasure Island. The location of the restaurant is awesome. With plenty of outdoor seating along the water, it’s a great place to take a break and people watch. It’s on the dining plan and uses one table service credit per person.
Sadly, we were pretty let down by the dining experience, and it started with the beer. They advertise that they serve ice cold beer. “29º to be exact. My husband and I both love a good beer, so we were almost as excited about the beer as we were the burger. Sadly, not only was it not 29 degrees, it wasn’t very cold at all. So our meal started with us having to return beer of all things. The second beer was a little colder but still not 29 degrees. Next time, we’ll stick with Raglan Road for a good beer. Although we had a not-so-great dining experience, we’d give it another try. If nothing else, we’d have a drink and share an appetizer outside!
Next up was the food. Note that this was last year, so some of the menu items may have changed.
Chips and Salsa: Corn torilla chips with fire roasted tomato salsa $3.99
This was very good and the best part of our meal. The salsa had great flavor and wasn’t overly spicy. I’m a sucker for anything fire-roasted and this didn’t disappoint. We ordered a second round…
From the Sea Platter: Fire Roasted Salmon, Baja, Fish Taco, Shrimp Ceviche with Torilla Salad- $23.99
My husband wasn’t thrilled with this. It wasn’t bad, but nothing really impressed him either. The Ceviche was his favorite (he ate it with the chips).
I was so let down by this. First off, it was dry dry dry! So dry that I tried to get some pineapple in every bite just to add some moisture. I expected this to have a lot of flavor, but it really didn’t. The bacon was greasy, cold, and nearly flavorless. The burger was dry and did not have the char-grilled flavor I love (and had hoped for), and the gouda was almost nowhere to be found. I’m not sure it was even on there… I’m a fan of sweet and savory, so I feel like this COULD be a good burger if it was done right. The fries were good. Not great but good.
This was just ok. Not bad. Not great. Just ok…
If you’ve dined here, I’d love to know what you thought of it!
