My husband and I love to go on dates…day dates, night dates any kind of date Many of my readers have told me that they ‘can’t remember the last time we dated’ and that just about breaks my heart!! Set aside $10 – $20 a week and PLAN a date at least once a month. Here is a breakdown of one of our ‘day dates’:

* Ruby Tuesdays = $15.02 with tip & a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Entree Coupon
* Matinee for 2 – $12.00

* Walk Around Freeman Lake Trails = Free

Even if you’re on a budget, couples must make time for one another! Make room in your budget for it at least once a month! You both deserve it!

Other Cheap Ideas:

* Go on a picnic – Pack lunch from home or even just pick up a couple sandwiches and find a romantic location. We love the lake and there are many secluded places to go.

* Go hiking. I know I know…hiking? But honestly, my husband and I have SO much fun when we do this. We LAUGH all day, hold hands and just have FUN together.

* Take in a free show. Many cities have these available throughout the year. Check with your local paper, the local actor’s theatre, your city’s website or call the Chamber of Commerce.

* Stay home, alone. If the kids are going to be gone, one of our favorite things to do is just STAY HOME! We close all the blinds, turn the lights down, have some wine and cuddle on the couch while we watch movies. Love it!

* Go to the zoo and ask for discounts. We recently got $6 tickets with our military discount!

* Take a tour or a local brewery or winery. You’d be surprised how fun this can be. My husband LOVES good beer and it’s really fun to go on the free tours to see how it’s done…and you usually get a free tasting!
