My Target Trip | Spent $4.92, Saved $12.72

Along with my quickie Walmart Trip, I also went to Target, although this was not a quick trip. I spent three hours of my life wandering around but I found some GREAT deals. On days I go scouting for deals I don’t bring a lot of coupons, but I did manage to do a few deals:

  • 4 – Deer Park Sparkling Water 1 L $0.69 – Used 4 $1/1 Deer Park Coupons = Free
  • 3 – Eucerin Calming Cream 1 oz $0.99 – Used 3 $1/1 Eucerin Coupons (no longer available) = Free
  • 1 – Nivea Creme Tin 1 oz = Used $1/1 Nivea Coupon (no longer available) = Free
  • 2 – Garnier Face Wipes $4.99 – Used 2 $2/1 Garnier Target Coupons (under “beauty) AND 2 $1/1 $1/1 Garnier Cleanser coupons in the 11/06/2011 RP Insert (exp 12/17/2011) = $1.99 each/ Great deal on these…my daughter and use them daily!

Total = $4.92

My stores do not give overage, usually. Occasionally I have a cashier that just doesn’t care and pushes it through, but I never count on it. We have numerous Target stores in my area. I have checked every time I go to do the Free Maybelline Baby Lips deal and they are always wiped out!

Walmart Trip | 6 Items (Including An Outfit) For $2.45

Walmart Extreme Couponing Trip

Quick Walmart trip this morning:

The razors are for my Operation Shoe Box donations (they had tons of them with the $3 coupons inside) and both my boys love the hyrdro razors. I would have usually bought something more productive with my overage (printer paper), but my granddaughter was with me, so she got a new outfit :-)

Super Quick Target Trip | Bought 4 Items, Spent $1.47

Super Quick Target Trip | Bought 4 Items, Spent $1.47

I ran in Target to get some prices and ended up using a few coupons I had in my purse. Total, I bought 4 items and spent $1.47 ~

This is my kind of coupon trip…quick and easy. I am going to donate the cats treats and the toothpaste went into my stockpile!

Beginners: You can use (1) manufacturer coupon AND (1) Target store coupon PER item at Target. Target does not give overage, so the $1.00 Whisker Lickin’s coupons were reduced to $0.94, which made them free!

My Binder Inserts | Various Sizes For Better Organization

My Binder Inserts | Various Sizes For Better Organization

As many of you know, I have always used a coupon box (and loved it). I keep my coupons very organzied and can’t stand bending them. I know, the “bending” thing is a little OCD, but that’s really the main thing that kept me from using a binder. In the past, the only inserts were baseball card size and required you to bend up most of your coupons…not my thing.

I don’t want to spend any more time than I have to on my coupons, especially finding them. Whether I am at home or in the store, I want to find my coupons quickly. I loved my box, but found shuffling through the stack of coupons in a category to be a little time consuming. I decided to try the binder method (again) a few months ago, so I started looking for different size insert pages and was pleasantly suprised to find there were many.

Last week I spent two evenings setting up my binder and getting all the coupons organized. I bought a Case-it 4″ D-185 XLarge Capacity Zipper Binder with 5-Tab File Folder and am loving how organized it is, especially the tabbed expanding file folder. However, it is big…much bigger than I expected. I clip ALL coupons, besides the ones I know I will 100% never use. I am firm believer that having your coupons at home, filed and unclipped, does you no good when your out shopping . I tried this method once and missed out on countless deals (unadvertised and clearance) because I didn’t have the coupons. I’m sure this is what is making the binder so big, so it’ll just take some getting used to. The inserts are working beautifully, so I wanted to give you guys the direct links to the ones I bought. Why I Love Coupons: My Hubby’s ‘Almost’ Free Box

Why I Love Coupons: My Hubby's Box

I try to get a box out to my hubby at least once every two weeks. The camp he is on this time is very remote and they have very little available to them. Even worse, there are people there that never get anything, which breaks my heart. I send extra and he is a good sharer :-)

I go ‘shopping’ in my stockpile, so most everything in the box was free except the jerky and the Hormel meals. The Hormel meals are great because they are shelf stable and actually taste pretty good (he says the Chicken & Dumplings are the best). They were $0.60 each after coupons. New $0.55/1 coupons came out in the 8/7 SS insert and I already bought 20 extra for $1.25 off of Ebay! The jerky was the only thing I paid full price for, but he loves it!

Please consider sending care packages to our servicemen and women overseas. It’s so sad to me that some never receive anything. For more informaton, visitwww.operationshoebox.com/
