Nestled back in the corner of Streets of America (adjacent to Sci-Fi Drive-In Dine-In), is Writer’s Stop…one of my all-time favorite spots in Disney World. It’s a bookstore, coffee shop, and bakery, but the thing that most people come for is the ginormous carrot cake cookie. And if you want a good cup of coffee, which is a rarity at Disney, this is will be your new favorite place (you can thank me later). Back to the carrot cake cookie.
Having read all the reviews, we made a point on our last trip to try it, and I had high hopes since I ♥ carrot cake. First of all, this thing is huge and more than enough for two people! It’s a carrot cake base filled with a sweet cream cheese filling. Unlike most of the bone-dry cupcakes I’ve tried at Disney, this was very moist with a delicious carrot flavor. The filling was way too sweet for me but if you have followed this site for very long, you know I gravitate towards less sweet desserts anyway. I ended up scraping off the filling and enjoying the cake with my coffee 😉 – Whether you groove on carrot cake or not, Writer’s Stop is a hidden gem and well worth making a trip in…even if it’s just to enjoy a good cup of coffee and read a book!
Be sure you’re following my daughter’s Disney blog. She is doing a professional internship there for the rest of the year and posts all kinds of fun, informative things…and lots of pictures!
