You may have heard on the news of the camp that was hit yesterday in Afghanistan. That was my husband’s camp. There were several injured and, sadly, a few lives lost. The picture above was once his bedroom…
Although I cannot go into detail, I can tell you that the PX, chow hall, food conexes, chapel, and the gym are gone. They are in desperate need of care packages! Food, toiletries…anything you can send. If you can’t send a package, even letters of support would be appreciated! They have no way to cook right now, so ready-to-eat meals would be great. Since we have been stocking up for our Operation Shoe Box donations, I have enough to send at least 4 or 5 good size boxes. PLEASE send what you can! For an idea of how to pack a box, see the last box I sent. The post office has a flat rate shipping box that only costs $10.95 to ship to any APO/FPO address. You can pick them up at any U.S. Post Office (ask for the military flat rate box).

I don’t have much right now, but I will try to send something soon. I have found a recipe from another website on how to make a cake in a mason jar to ship. I will at least send that. Will be thinking of you and your husband!

My prayers for you and your husband, and all the men that serve this wonderful country of ours. We can complain about the debt ceiling and what Congress does or doesn’t do but MY GOD, we have Men and Women across the world fighting for their lives and we all need to unite and pray for their quick and afe return home. I pray that Our Lord continues to give you the strength to do what your doing—keeping on the home front!!! Please let us know when you family is reunited. For we shall all rejoice when our men and women are on USA soil again, for good!
